    A cool trick for land takeoffs

    Hah!  Just when you thought you had seen it all.... a dirt contractor customer of mine showed me a GREAT idea using his takeoff software.  Using Google Maps, he took a screenshot of an area of land to be cleared, and created a .jpg file (using the print screen button and then cut and paste into MSPaint)

     Next he opened the .jpg with Takeoff Live and set the scale according to the scale shown in the picture.   He clicked around the area of the plot and voila!  Instant square footage!!  He divided that by the acreage/sf to get his acreage.

    Ain't technology great!
