Corporate Director of Estimating and Business Development, So.CA
Market
Salary Provide the overall leadership,
management and guidance for the estimating/business development department at
multiple locations for this established Orange County, CA based sub-contractor.
Oversight of competitive commercial construction bids and estimating for
core/shell and T.I. projects including retail, industrial and office buildings
throughout the Western U.S.
Essential
Functions/Responsibilities:
·
Effectively
determine the bid strategies required for the company to be successful as well
as plan and coordinate and supervise large projects.
·
Assist
corporate and divisional estimating teams to determine what types of projects
to bid, strategies, techniques, etc.
·
Review
all final estimate packages to insure accuracy and completeness, prior to
formal quotation.
·
Lead presentations to potential and existing
clients with the corporate management team. May be responsible for
“closing the sale".
·
Provide
technical assistance in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc. as required.
·
Assist
in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and cost
estimates as required.
·
Manage
and administer department functions including operating budgets, staffing, wage
reviews, work assignments, performance evaluations, etc.
·
Perform
additional assignments per owner's direction.
Skills,
Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
·
Minimum of 10 years of responsible
estimating and project management experience on large-scale commercial and/or
institutional projects.
·
BS/ BA from an accredited college
or university with major coursework in architecture, engineering, construction
science or a related field.
·
Demonstrated knowledge of
construction estimating and ability to “build a project in your head”.
·
Knowledge of construction
principles, techniques and procedures.
·
Knowledge of federal, state and
local laws governing design and construction related to estimating.
·
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office
Suite, Quick Bid estimating software and graphic design software
·
Ability to effectively present
information in oral, written and graphic form.
·
Good writing and communication
skills.
·
Strong leadership skills.
·
Strong Experience with commercial
interior construction, renovation or remodeling
